What the photos show
- beige-gold paint looks glossy and straight outdoors with body-colour hubcaps and thin whitewalls, no major bodywork is visible, though a tiny dark speck shows at one rear wheel-arch edge
- chrome grille, stacked headlights, bumpers and rear trim look bright and complete, and the rear badge reads 280 SE, matching the listing, so no chrome bill is visible
- dark brown leather front and rear seats look supple with only light creasing and no tears, so no retrim is needed on what is shown
- dash wood is mostly rich and glossy but the left A-pillar wood shows wear spots and the dash-top wood looks faded, so budget for wood touch-ups, and a stain shows on the rear headlining by the top window
- the brown soft top looks taut, clean and well fitting when raised, so no top replacement is suggested by the photos
- engine bay looks complete and honest but untidy, with loose-looking wiring and a modern battery, so budget for a bay tidy and sorting rather than a rebuild on sight
- the sampled photos show no underside view - only a tyre tread close-up - so you cannot judge underside rust from the sample, though five sampled photos are old service invoices that name a 1970 280 SE and VIN 111 025 12 004206, matching this car
Money: at $95,500 sold, the glossy paint, bright chrome, good leather and taut top support the price, with the faded dash wood, stained headlining and untidy bay as the small spend left.
