About this car
Its black leather interior remains in its original configuration and has obviously been treated with respect over the years, judging from its surprisingly fresh condition. The contoured front bucket seats show only minimal wear, the rear bench even less, and as you direct your attention forward, you'll notice no cracks or warping on the dash, which is always a welcome sight in a car with UV sensitive black upholstery.
What the photos show
- Black paint is glossy on every panel in the showroom photos, doors and fenders line up straight and reflections run clean down the sides on the lift — no paint or body budget from these photos.
- Deep-dish five-spoke wheels with polished lips look clean in the close-up and the tyre shows strong tread — no wheel or tyre budget from these photos.
- Black leather rear seats show light creasing and surface wear but no tears — budget for leather treatment, not a retrim from these photos.
- The open door card and sill look clean, with the dash and wheel only seen in shadow — no door trim budget from these photos, though the front seats are not shown close.
- Glass is heavily tinted in the photos, which hides the cabin more than it judges it — budget for an in-person interior check from these photos.
- No engine-bay or underside photos are in the sampled set, a real gap on a V12 E31 — budget for a full inspection, since photos cannot judge that engine or its electrics.
- Door-jamb stickers and ID plates are photographed, which helps a buyer verify the car — no budget item from that frame.
Money: Cosmetically a no-spend black 850i in the photos, but with no bay or underside views the real E31 money questions are exactly the ones left unphotographed.
