About this car
1957 Porsche 356A Speedster at Copley Motorcars in Needham, MA, $285,000. Silver over red, 4-speed manual; period-correct non-matching 1600 engine and a Gary Kempton restoration per the dealer.
What the photos show
- Silver paint looks smooth and glossy in all exterior views — no visible damage, but distance hides close detail.
- Chrome bumpers and hubcaps shine brightly — brightwork looks cared for, saving a rechrome bill.
- Red top boot and red interior contrast sharply with the silver — trim looks complete in the one open-door view.
- Single bucket seat visible looks taut with white piping — no sag or tear seen, but only one seat is shown close.
- Panels sit straight from side and rear — gaps look even at this distance, worth a closer check in person.
- Can't judge the dash closely — gauges are visible but small, so dial condition is unproven.
- Can't judge the engine bay — no engine photo at all, a major gap at this price.
- Can't judge the underside — no underside photo, and 356 floors are where the money goes.
- Can't judge the top itself — only the boot cover is shown, not the raised soft top.
Money: At $285,000 the exterior and brightwork look handsome, but with only five distant photos and no engine, underside or top view, most of the value is still unproven from pictures alone.
