What the photos show
- White paint is dull and stained in the outdoor photos, with rust patches breaking through on the doors and around the sills and front wings — budget for rust repair and a full repaint from these photos.
- Steel wheels are rusty and the tyres look old and flat-spotted in the side photos — budget for wheels and a full set of tyres from these photos.
- The engine bay photo shows leaves and debris around the motor and surface corrosion on the tinware and oil filter canister — budget for a full engine recommissioning, not a tune-up, from these photos.
- Chrome trim is thin and tarnished where it survives, and the front bumper sits crooked — budget for chrome and trim work from these photos.
- The body is complete and recognisably straight under the grime, which is the good news in the photos — no missing-panel money is evident.
- No interior close-up is in the sampled set, so the cabin and the floors — the expensive unknowns on a 356 — cannot be judged from these photos.
Money: body rust, paint, tyres and an engine recommission are all photo-evident — and the unseen floors decide whether this stays a recommission or becomes a shell restoration.
