About this car
This 1986 420SEL is offered on eBay by gateway-classic-cars in Franksville, WI. It is listed at auction: the current bid stood at $9,300 when the listing was collected on November 3, 2026, with bidding scheduled to end on November 8, 2026. The car is finished in Cream over Tan, an automatic gearbox, power from a 4.2L Gas V8 engine. The odometer shows 165,500 miles. On a W126, check for rust around the rear window and in the battery tray, and test the vacuum-operated door locks and the climate controls.
What the photos show
- cream paint is glossy and even all round with no rust, dents or peeling seen, so no paint money on what is shown
- chrome grille, bumpers and window trim are bright, and the rear badge reads 420 SEL, matching the title
- all 16 photos in the sample are exterior shots, so the seats and interior can't be judged from the sample
- no engine bay photo in the sample, so the engine's condition can't be judged
- no dash photo in the sample, so dash cracks can't be judged
- no underside photo in the sample, so floors and rust underneath can't be judged
- through the open window the headliner looks loose at the front edge, so a headliner repair may be needed
- the gallery repeats the same exterior angles many times, so the 40 photos tell you less than they promise
Money: at $9,300 the body and chrome in the photos look genuinely clean, but with no interior, engine or underside evidence in the sample you are paying driver money on exterior photos alone.
