About this car
This 1987 560SL is offered on eBay by ermal-3122 in Cleveland, OH. The asking price is $15,000. The car is an automatic gearbox, power from a 5.6L Gas V8 engine. The odometer shows 137,000 miles. On an R107, check the front subframe mounts and the soft-top well for rust, and on the V8 cars the timing-chain guides.
What the photos show
- Black paint is glossy in daylight and again in the car-wash shots, no repaint bill in view.
- Chrome grille and wheel-arch trim look bright, no rechroming cost from what shows.
- Black seats are worn and creased, with fraying at the driver's seat-back edge, so budget for leather repair or reupholstery.
- Steering wheel leather stitching is split in places, a small repair cost to allow for.
- Center console wood looks cracked and crazed, so budget for wood refinishing if you want it right.
- Dash top looks smooth with no big cracks seen, no dash replacement cost expected.
- Aftermarket black wheels are fitted instead of the original style, so budget if you want correct factory wheels.
- Engine bay is complete but dusty with yellowed reservoirs, so budget for detailing and sorting.
- Black soft top is up in the night shots and its rear windows look cloudy, so budget for a window refresh.
- Hardtop is on in the daylight shots and looks clean, a plus that saves buying one separately.
- No underside photos were in the sampled set, so I can't judge underside rust or leaks.
Money: At $15,000 the black paint and both tops help, but the worn seats, cracked console wood, split wheel stitching and non-original wheels are the costs to price in.
