About this car
This 1989 560SEL is offered on eBay by beverlyhillscarclub in Los Angeles, CA. The asking price is $4,950. The car is finished in Light Ivory, an automatic gearbox, power from a 5.6L Gas V8 engine. The listing does not state a mileage. On a W126, check for rust around the rear window and in the battery tray, and test the vacuum-operated door locks and the climate controls.
What the photos show
- The photos are Beverly Hills Car Club stock #20133, plate 8MYT476 — the same physical car as the Hemmings S-Class listing, so do not count it twice
- Cream and tan two-tone paint looks glossy and straight, no paint money needed for a driver
- A large dent is creased into the left rear door, that panel needs body-shop money
- Chrome wheels, grille and trim look bright, no chrome bill showing
- Brown leather front seats are deeply creased, budget a retrim if you want it smart
- Rear seat and all four door cards look clean and complete, no money needed there
- Dash, wood and steering wheel look intact, no interior restoration money showing
- The engine bay looks complete and tidy for its age, service money only, nothing missing
- Underneath looks grimy with a rusty-looking exhaust, but the floor pans look solid, no structural bill in the photos
- The trunk is carpeted and clean with its floor panel in place, no money needed there
Money: $4,950 is driver money for a complete 560SEL — the rear-door dent is the main spend the photos prove, and it is the same car as the Hemmings listing at the same price.

Condition: A 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SEL. Silver blue with a blue leather interior. 57,000 original miles as per Carfax. The body is good, the paint is fairly new and looks good. A very nice and solid undercarriage. The original interior is showing it some and has some cracks by the dash near the console, as you can see in the pictures, and on the front seats, the leather is dried out. Mechanically the car runs and drives, but it could benefit from mechanical service before you start driving it regularly. It runs very rich, fuel system needs to be revised. Comes with clean and clear title. An excellent original car, needing work. Any questions.
