About this car
This 1983 300D is offered on eBay by jdsales626 in Burbank, CA. The asking price is $14,900. The car is an automatic gearbox, power from a 3.0L Diesel I5 engine. The odometer shows 191,000 miles. The eBay title does not name the model; the car's VIN identifies it as a 300D. On a W123, the vacuum system, glow plugs on the diesels, and rust in the jacking points and rear wheel arches are the usual places to look first.
What the photos show
- Burgundy paint is deep and glossy on hood, roof and trunk, no fading seen, so no respray money needed on looks.
- Chrome grille, bumpers and window trim are bright and straight, no pitting replacement needed.
- Tan seats front and rear look clean with no tears or splits, so no reupholstery bill.
- Dash top looks uncracked and wood trim is mostly glossy, saving a dash replacement.
- Center console wood shows cracking and wear around the shifter, so budget for refinishing if you want it perfect.
- Sunroof is shown open and the roof paint around it is clean, so no obvious sunroof panel repair.
- Bundt wheels look clean and tires have visible tread, so no immediate wheel or tire spend.
- Trunk is empty, carpeted and clean with the owner's manual in the glovebox, so no trunk cleanup cost.
- Engine bay is not shown in the sampled photos, so I can't judge leaks or engine costs from photos.
- Underside is not shown in the sampled photos, so I can't judge rust or underside repairs from photos.
Money: At $14,900 the glossy paint and clean tan interior support the price, with only console wood cracking as a visible cosmetic cost and engine/underside still to check in person.
