About this car
This 1974 450SL is offered on eBay by br692567 in Madison, CT. The asking price is $6,500. The car is finished in Silver over Blue, an automatic gearbox, power from a V8 engine. The odometer shows 90,000 miles. On an R107, check the front subframe mounts and the soft-top well for rust, and on the V8 cars the timing-chain guides.
What the photos show
- silver paint looks glossy and straight in the photos, no respray bill showing here
- chrome grille and bumpers are bright, no chrome money needed yet
- engine bay is present but dusty and dirty, budget a detail before judging leaks
- the underside of the hood is peeling with rust-colored damage, that repair is on you
- dark blue door panels are clean and intact, no trim money needed
- dash looks intact with no cracks showing, no dash money needed
- odometer shows 89,450 miles, low miles help the price make sense
- an aftermarket JVC stereo is fitted, the original radio is gone if originality matters
- center console trim is worn and cracking at the edges, small trim money to fix
- one seat headrest is torn open with yellow foam showing, budget a headrest repair
- blue soft top has cloudy rear windows and a small tape patch on the roof panel, budget for a new top
- no underside photos in the sample, can't judge the floors or frame from this gallery
- the 17-photo gallery repeats five photos, only 11 different photos to judge from
Money: at $6,500 the torn headrest and patched, cloudy top are the visible spend, and the missing underside photos are the risk you pay to check in person.
