What the photos show
- The shell is mid-restoration in grey primer and faded red with all glass, lights and bumpers removed — budget a full paint job and refit, there is no finished paint anywhere.
- Close-ups show real rust: a hole eaten through the belly pan, cracking and filler lifting at the nose edge, and rust in the battery tray area — budget serious welding before any paint.
- The engine bay is empty, its red paint peeling over surface rust — the bay itself needs work before anything goes back in.
- The engine is out and in pieces on shelves — bare block, crankshaft, gearbox and a bin of rusty ancillaries including the carb and distributor — budget a full engine rebuild, condition unknown.
- The cabin is stripped to bare metal with surface rust on the floors and tunnel, and the dash is under a cover — budget floors, then a full interior build.
- Parts in the bins include the bumpers, door cards, console and trim rings, mostly dusty and tired — a good sign for completeness, but every piece needs cleaning or repair.
- Red steel wheels are rusty and the tires are old rollers — budget wheels and a full set of tires.
- Door cards off the car are warped and stained — budget trim work even though they exist.
Money: at $3,000 you are buying a stripped shell plus boxed parts — the rust holes, the engine in pieces and the missing glass and paint are the whole spend, so inspect the shell's rust in person before anything else.
