About this car
1956 Porsche 356A Coupe listed on eBay in Astoria, NY. Listing shows Blue exterior. Asking price $89,500 on eBay.
What the photos show
- The eight photos show a complete-looking coupe that reads as an older, tired car rather than a restored one.
- The pale blue paint looks dull and faded with a flat finish all over, so paint correction at best, and likely a repaint, is money to allow for.
- Bumpers and trim look dark and dull rather than bright chrome, so brightwork refurbishment is a cost to budget.
- The tan seats look worn and creased, and the door card on the driver's side hangs loose, so interior work is clearly coming.
- The dash has an empty hole where equipment is missing and the cabin generally looks aged, so small-parts and trim costs add up here.
- The engine bay looks dusty and long-undisturbed, with aged components throughout, so budget a full recommissioning check of the flat-four.
- Can't judge the underside — no lift photo is shown, and on a 356 the floors and longitudinals decide whether this is a driver project or a full restoration.
Money: at $89,500 the photos show project money territory — faded paint, dull trim, tired cabin, dusty bay — so the ask only makes sense priced as a recommissioning job with the underside still to inspect.
