About this car
1980 Porsche 911 SC listed on eBay in Grand Rapids, MI. Listing shows 37,959 miles shown, 5 Speed Manual transmission, Blue exterior. Asking price $54,900 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Light blue paint is glossy across the wide race bodywork in the showroom photos, with the number 54 roundels and big rear wing all sitting straight — no paint or body budget from these photos.
- Silver mesh race wheels look clean and unkerbed — no wheel budget from these photos.
- The cabin is a stripped race interior — roll cage, bucket seat and Schroth harness in the close photos — so there is no road trim left to judge or budget for from these photos.
- The dash keeps its factory gauges behind a suede race wheel, all presentable in the cockpit photo — no dash budget from these photos.
- The engine photo is a close-up of a clean fan and housing — tidy as far as it goes, but a single close-up cannot vouch for a race motor, so budget a leak-down and inspection from these photos.
- Headlight covers are blanked and the bumpers are lightweight race items — returning this car to road spec would be a major spend, so budget it as the track car the photos show.
Money: nothing cosmetic — the spend is race-car diligence (harness and engine checks) or a very large bill to make it a road car again.
