About this car
1964 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible listed on eBay in West Babylon, NY. Listing shows 19,632 miles shown, 4 Speed Manual transmission, Burgundy exterior. Asking price $29,900 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Deep red metallic paint is glossy and even in every showroom shot, panels and doors line up straight — no paint budget from these photos.
- Chrome bumpers, trim and hubcaps are bright and mirror-clean, and the red-painted steel wheels are tidy — no chrome or wheel money needed.
- Tires show good tread in the side views — no tire spend from these photos.
- Black top fits smoothly up with a clear rear window, though the fabric looks a little flat and faded up close — budget a deep clean and check the seals, not a new top from these photos.
- Black seats front and rear look smooth and unworn and the body-colour dash is tidy — no retrim budget; the dark floor mats show light debris, a valet item only.
- The sample is nearly all exterior shots — no engine bay photos, so the engine can't be judged, hold back money for that inspection.
- No underside photos in the sample — can't judge the pans, hold back money for that inspection.
Money: the glossy red paint, bright chrome and tidy black interior support the $29,900 ask; the unseen engine and underside are the must-see items, with a top clean the only visible spend.
