About this car
1974 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible listed on eBay in Grand Rapids, MI. Listing shows 68,192 miles shown, Manual transmission, Yellow exterior. Asking price $12,900 on eBay.
What the photos show
- Bright yellow paint is glossy and even all round, doors, hood and fenders straight — no respray budget from these photos.
- Ruler close-ups honestly flag the flaws: a scratch with small paint chips along one wheel-arch edge, a thin scratch on a front fender and a tiny chip by a panel seam — touch-up money only, not panel work.
- Chrome bumpers and headlight rings are bright and mirror-like front and rear — no re-chrome money.
- Black top is shown up and down: up, the fabric is taut and smooth and the small rear window is clear; down, the white headliner side looks clean — no top replacement budget from these photos.
- Chrome hubcaps over steel wheels are clean and the tires show deep tread all round — no tire spend.
- Black high-back seats only show from outside with the top down and look smooth — seat wear, dash and carpets can't be judged, no interior close-up in the sample.
- No engine bay or underside photos in the sample — can't judge either, hold back money for that inspection.
Money: the glossy paint, bright chrome and taut top support the $12,900 ask; the documented arch scratch and chips are small touch-up money, and the engine bay and underside are the must-see items.
