About this car
At $12,500, this 280SE 3.5 sedan is unusually cheap for the version with the M116 V8 engine. The seller says it runs and drives perfectly and is in almost mint condition inside and out. If an inspection in Fort Lauderdale supports that, it would be the best buy in the Facebook group. Check the 3.5 engine and the title first, because this price is what an ordinary 280SE would cost.
What the photos show
- Only one photo is available for this listing — a front three-quarter of the silver-grey sedan on a dealer lot — so most of the car can't be judged from photos at all.
- The paint looks even and presentable down the side in frame, the chrome bumper, grille and trim are bright, and the dark interior visible through the glass looks tidy — a presentable car from this angle.
- The car sits on wire wheels, which are not a factory fitment for a W108 — a taste item to note, and a set of correct steel wheels and hubcaps is a real cost if originality matters.
- No interior detail, engine bay, trunk or underside photos are available — the cabin up close, the 3.5 V8 and the floors and sills all stay unjudged until more photos or an in-person look.
Money: $12,500 is strikingly low for a 280SE 3.5, a model whose coupes and cabriolets carry the big money — for the sedan at this price the unseen body and floors are the whole story, and they need an in-person check before the price reads as a bargain.
