1953 Mercedes-Benz 300B

• The engine bay is empty — there is no engine in this car at all, just the bellhousing and radiator, so sourcing a correct 300 engine is the giant money question
• The roof and rear end are covered in heavy rust, full body restoration money, not a repaint
• Both headlight buckets are empty and the grille shell is missing, rare Adenauer trim money on top of everything else
• The rear fenders are rusted and patched-looking, metal repair money is certain
• Door cards are gone and the doors are bare rusty shells inside, so a complete interior must be sourced
• The seats are collapsed with the horsehair padding bursting out, a ground-up retrim is unavoidable
• The dash is stripped with parts missing, more scarce-parts money
• The bumpers survive and look straight, one of the few parts not needing money
• No underside photo appears in the sampled photos, and with this much visible rust I can't judge the underside — assume the worst until it is on a lift

Money: at $3,950 you are buying a rusty, engineless Adenauer shell — the price is only the entry ticket, and a missing 300 engine can cost multiples of it.
