About this car
Hemmings listing in Astoria, NY. Offered on Hemmings in Astoria, NY.
What the photos show
- red paint looks deep and glossy all around, no paint bill showing on what is shown
- chrome grille, bumpers and trim shine clean, no re-chroming bill showing
- tan leather seats and matching door cards look fresh and unmarked, no retrim bill showing
- wood dash looks polished and complete, no dash bill showing
- tan soft top looks clean and taut with a clear rear window, no top bill showing
- the floor by the pedals looks yellowed and grubby against the fresh seats, so budget a deep clean or new carpet in the footwell
- engine bay looks clean and orderly in black and silver, no big detailing bill showing
- can't judge the underside — no underside photo in the gallery, so I can't judge the frame or floors
Money: at $79,500 the photos show a shiny, finished car everywhere except underneath, so the price hangs on an underside inspection the gallery never gives you.

Condition: 1950 Mercedes-Benz 170 S Cabriolet A This 1950 Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet A is just out of a collection where it has been in storage for several years. Finished in black and cream, with a black interior. Throughout the finishes exhibit considerable age and patina, in particular to the chrome of the exterior and to the engine compartment. The dashboard contains a clock and an impressive Telefnken push-button radio. The engine appears to be a slightly later replacement unit from a 180 model.
