What the photos show
- topside the cream paint is presentable and the chrome is bright, and the rear badge reads 380 SL, matching the title, so the car presents honestly at first walk-around
- the brown soft top looks nearly new with clear windows, no top bill coming
- the tan seats and door cards are clean and uncreased, no retrim bill in the cabin
- the carpets tell another story — the driver's footwell carpet is stained and discoloured around the pedals, so a carpet set or deep extraction goes on the list
- the engine bay is dirty and mid-job: the plug leads are off the distributor with yellow tape tags on the wires, and the underside of the hood is rusty, so budget to finish whatever service was started plus a full bay clean
- the underside is the real bill — one photo shows rust holes eaten through the floor and sill area under the thick undercoat, with cobwebs and a rusty exhaust, so structural welding money is unavoidable
- a second underside shot shows more holes along the other sill seam and flaking, cracked undercoat, so the rot is both sides, not one patch
- the rear valance paint is peeling under the bumper and the spare-wheel well is crusty, more body money at the back
- the trunk carpet is clean and dry with the first-aid kit present, so at least the rot has not reached the boot floor visibly
Money: no price is listed; the pretty topside hides holed floors and sills on both sides, so this is a car to price as a welding project with a nice interior — the rust repair will cost more than everything the good photos show.
