About this car
1964 Porsche 356C Coupe listed on eBay in Astoria, NY. Listing shows Black exterior. Asking price $46,500 on eBay.
What the photos show
- The five photos show a barn-find coupe that needs a full restoration in every area.
- The black paint is dead and faded, with large rust patches blistering across the hood and surface corrosion on the panels, so this is metalwork and a full repaint.
- Chrome bumpers are present but dull and aged, so rechroming or replacement is part of the bill.
- The brown interior is dusty and tired, with worn seats and a parts box sitting in the footwell, so a complete retrim is coming.
- The dash and gauges are present but grubby and aged, so they will need restoration with the rest of the cabin.
- The engine bay is heavily corroded, with rust across the fan shroud, tinware and the green-painted inner panels, so the flat-four needs a full rebuild-level inspection.
- Can't judge the underside from a lift — no such photo is shown — but the visible corrosion says structural inspection comes before any money moves.
Money: at $46,500 this is a restoration core, honestly photographed — paint, metal, trim and engine all need full money, so the price only works if the shell and numbers check out in person.
