Vehicle Original VIN : 1442080530 The Karmann Ghia began as a secret project. Karmann, the German coachbuilder, approached the Italian design firm Ghia in the early 1950s and together they built a prototype on a Beetle chassis without telling Volkswagen. What the photos show
- Bright green paint is glossy and even all round, panels straight, badges and window stickers in place — no full paint budget from these photos.
- Close-ups show a heavy orange-peel texture in the paint and a few small chips measured with a ruler, plus scuffing low on a front fender — budget touch-ins, and judge the paint quality in person.
- Chrome bumpers are bright overall with some dullness low on the front bumper — no re-chrome money, maybe a polish.
- Black-and-silver alloy wheels are clean and the tires show good tread — no tire spend.
- Tan seats only show through the glass and from above; they look tidy but wear can't be judged properly — hold back money for an interior check.
- No engine bay photo in the sample — can't judge it, hold back money for that inspection.
- No underside photo in the sample — can't judge rockers or floors, and Ghias rust there, so hold back money for a lift inspection.
Money: the green paint and straight body support the $14,900 ask at a glance; hold back for paint-quality checks, and engine bay and underside are must-see.
