About this car
1974 Volkswagen Thing Convertible listed on Hemmings in La Verne, California. Asking price $17,900 on Hemmings.
What the photos show
- White paint with a blue hood and blue top looks glossy in this single front three-quarter photo, flat panels straight — this is a two-tone custom scheme, not a single factory colour.
- Blue soft top is up and looks taut with a clear side window in this photo — no top budget from this photo alone.
- Blue tube front bumper and black steel wheels look clean, tires show tread — no bumper or tire spend from this distance.
- Interior only shows through the windshield and open sides — can't judge seats, floors or dash, hold back money for that inspection.
- No engine bay photos — can't judge it, hold back money for that inspection.
- No underside photos — can't judge floors, hold back money for that inspection, critical on a Thing.
- Rear is barely shown in this one angle — can't judge the rear or engine lid from it.
Money: the one bright two-tone view is consistent with the $17,900 ask, but interior, engine, floors and rear are must-see items with only one photo.
